Here is my design of E-commerce Candle Website. From brand design to website information architecture, I involved in the whole design process of this candle website 'January Studio Chandler', which was launched at 2022. It was built using Shopify, and I made amendments to the HTML/CSS code to refine and make adjustments.

About This Project

A responsive handmade candle online store that provides buyers with detailed information and a wide range of choices in scents and colors, while stimulating buyers' purchase intentions through simple and convenient processes, exquisite photos and interface design.

I conducted usability tests with 4 potential users to see how real people interact with the e-commerce website. The purpose of these tests was to assess whether the website is meeting its initial goals and to evaluate its functionality.

Usability Test
Findings - 'Fewer Form Fields Convert Better'

The feedback gained indicated that users prefer providing less personal information during the payment process, particularly their private address. Additionally, they tended to abandon their purchase when faced with numerous form fields.

After gathering insights form the users, I improved the purchase process by installing 2 plugins: One-click checkout and SF Express. Both plugins are designed to simplify the checkout process and save users' time.

  • One-click checkout
    Options of Shop Pay, Pay Pal, Apple Pay and Google Pay are provided for one-click checkout.

  • SF Express
    The local delivery company has branches spread across every district. Users can choose from a wide range of pickup points, including SF stores, SF lockers, 7-11, and Circle-K convenience stores. The selected address will be automatically filled in the form fields.

These two methods successfully increased the website's conversion rate by simplifying the checkout process. Having fewer steps in the checkout process reduces the time customers spend contemplating their purchasing decision. This stimulates more purchases and also enhances user satisfaction.
